Paul Kevin Moore (72) was born in Rochester, NY on 9/13/1948 to Robert and Hilda (Kennedy) Moore. After 1 year of college in Rochester, he attended Kent State University in Kent, OH and graduated with a degree in political science. After a year of graduate classes at the University of Michigan, he began working for the State of Michigan. He finished his Masters' degree at U OF M and worked for the State in various capacities for over 30 years, ending as a Social Services District Manager in Detroit. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Ruth (Savoy) Moore, a daughter, Caitlin Kennedy, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and several great-grands as well. One sister-in-law, Virginia Moore, is also a survivor. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister. Paul was dedicated to service to his State and community. He volunteered with the City of Huntington Woods (where he lived for 38 years) and the Berkley School System while working and for other non-profit agencies during his retirement.
He succumbed to COPD coupled with Covid-19 in the ICU of Ascension St. John Macomb Hospital. He will be sorely missed, but did not want any services after his death. Donations in his name can be made to the American Lung Association.

I spoke with Ruth Moore after she contacted me to send this news of her husband's, Paul Moore's, passing. Paul suffered from COPD and in November was treated at a hospital and released to a nursing home after being cleared of Covid. Two days later he was sent back to the hospital with Covid. Ruth believes that he got Covid at the nursing home. Paul and Ruth resided in Huntington Woods, Michigan.
